Hi, I am Mr. Aubrey Godette, originally from Morehead City, North Carolina aka "Crystal Coast!" I enjoy our beautiful area and all that it has to offer. I must say, that the beach and the new shopping areas have been my favorite. While growing up in Morehead City, I matriculated through the Carteret County School System attending Morehead City Primary, Morehead Elementary School at Camp Glenn, Morehead City Middle School and graduated from West Carteret High School as a mighty patriot! In 2014, I graduated from North Carolina Central University of Durham with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Science and Social Studies. (Yes, Mr. G knows some social studies too)
I enjoy traveling, shopping, and working with students! This summer break has been super busy for me - I've traveled to several states and spent a whole week at Georgetown Preparatory School (Bethesda, MD) and Naval Seas Warfare Center - Caderock (West Bethesda, MD). While there, we experienced an amazing SeaGlide Workshop (pictures are below of the glider that I created). Not only was the workshop great but I was able to travel to Washington D.C. and visited the Smithsonian, the Capital Building and attended the Nationals vs Cubs Game with Mr. Koczot and Mrs. Blackwell. Can't wait to go back again. Also, over the summer break I was afforded the opportunity to return to Cherry Point Military Base - Fleet Readiness Center and work with some amazing engineers and military personnel! This year 6th Grade you will have an opportunity to travel there as well. So much fun! Can't wait to hear how your summer break went!
I believe that learning can be achieved by every student in my classroom and that students should be challenged, engaged and prepared to excel.
My classroom is a positive learning society where students are engaged and held to the highest level of expectation! I also love to have fun and provide many creative experiences where students can be challenged and show their creativity.
All in all, I believe in the power of learning and hold true the quote by Francis Bacon, "Knowledge is Power!" So parents and students let's work together and get H.Y.P.E. - Helping Young People Excel!
I've included for you my resume as well and hope that I can be of great assistance to you all this sixth grade year! Click on this link to find it: Mr. Godette's Resume.

As a Homo heidelbergensis, you live between 700,000 and 200,000 years ago in what is now Europe and Africa...and maybe in Asia as well. You are one of the first early human species to live in cold habitats. Building simple shelters and hunting large animals helps you survive. Your species will give rise to modern humans. ------------>
